About

Me and my sweet new ride circa 1984. Check out that couch pattern…

It’s the ’80s, the greatest decade known to mankind. If you grew up or got to experience this time, you know it included a gigantic explosion in pop culture. This was a time where cartoons and TV shows were at their peak, the PG-13 era in movies had begun and people were walking around with giant cell phones.

I’m Jamie, and besides growing up in the 80s, I have been able to become a professional blogger. Even though I grew up typing on a Commodore 64 I have been a contributing writer for places like:

  • The Huffington Post
  • The Atlanta Tribune
  • Thrive Global
  • LifeHack
  • Reader’s Digest
  • askmen.com

I also have been an Amazon #1 seller for a few books in the health and wellness space. I’ve transferred this “ability” over to this blog that has everything to do with the 80s – even though I never know when to properly use ‘affect’ or ‘effect’, so look out for that.

This site, and podcast, are about looking back on all the great elements that made the ’80s the epic decade it was. I will cover here everything from the greatness of Back to the Future to random toys like Madballs. You can listen to the podcast but also check out the blog posts covering everything you can think of. I break topics down into the following categories to hopefully keep everything covered:

  • Music
  • Movies
  • T.V
  • Toys
  • Food & Drink
  • Video games
  • Acid washed jeans?

Watching Saturday morning cartoons. Please note the orange carpet and fake wood wall paneling. Gorgeous

So to dive back into the 80s, just go to the categories box up and to the right to check out everything from the E.T Atari video game to Teddy Ruxpin, and everything in between. While you’re at it, make a positive effect in your life and sign up for the email newsletter to get epic 80s content and updates. Just put your ‘ol electronic email address below. Compliance!

So crack open a Tab, put on some Duran Duran, play Robotron and have a look back at this monumental decade. Or just take a moment to enjoy Huey Lewis at his finest.
